Tonight on NBC Nightly News
The world is watching the situation between North and South Korea tonight, after the North lobbed dozens of artillery shells onto an island the South has claimed as its territory. Two South Korean Marines were killed and several civilians wounded, now the US is reacting with restraint even as it stands behind ally South Korea. We're covering developments from all angles tonight: with Andrea Mitchell at the State Department, Jim Miklaszewski at the Pentagon and Ian Williams in Seoul.
Plus we'll have some expert analysis from longtime diplomat Richard Haas. Also, the latest on how the TSA's stepped up screening is going at airports across the country; a look at some bad weather that could complicate some Americans' holiday travel, and a Making A Difference story about a life-saving chain of cooperation and kindness.
