Coming up on Hardball

Tonight on Hardball: President Obama met with Congressional Leadership in a bipartisan, closed-door meeting today. We'll talk with White House Senior Advisor David Axelrod and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) about whether they might find compromise on taxes, Don't Ask Don't Tell, and debt reduction.

Then: Joe Scarborough wrote a scathing piece in Politico that the GOP should take Sarah Palin down now, before she puts her hat in the ring for the 2012 Presidential nomination. Should Republicans take her down to make way for stronger candidates? We'll discuss with MSNBC Political Analyst Pat Buchanan and Mother Jones's David Corn.
