Tonight on Hardball—As Democrats edge closer to passing the tax plan, some Republicans appear to be having second thoughts. We'll talk with Rep. Michael Capuano (D-MA), who is voting against the plan, and with Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA), who is voting for it.
Then—Afghanistan. Our new NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll shows that over 50% of Democrats oppose the war, and a Washington Post poll says a majority think the war's not worth fighting. We'll talk with Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI), who supports the war, and with Sen. Christopher Coons (D-DE), who initially supported the war but now says he has concerns.
Plus—Senate Republicans say that Harry Reid is "disrespecting? Christmas because he wants to keep the Senate in session for the holidays. More on that tonight. And then—Infighting between the Tea Party and the Republican establishment. We'll tell you why they're mad. Don't miss tonight's show!
