And you could watch them fight it out instead of watching your own party come apart at the seams. That's, politically, the smart move." Battle for better education Washington D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty: "Those who are looking to fix schools and keep everybody happy are fooling themselves... let's understand that there are certain groups who are wedded to the schools performing a certain way -- and we've got to shake the school system loose from those groups." Elijah Cummings (D-MD): "Let me tell you what's going to happen next year: the Republicans are going to come back, the deficit is going to be increased and you know what they are going to call it? The 'Obama deficit.' And they will put themselves in the position to say 'Now we must cut Medicare, we must cut Social Security.' So, I think [Democrats] are kind of setting ourselves up."
