Michael Rosenbaum Returning as Lex Luthor!

Saturday, February 12th, 2011 at 12:06 am Fans have been wondering for a while now, and rumors already abound everywhere, but now the truth came out! On 13 May, the final series hits the long run the CW and Smallville's biggest antagonist is along for ride. Michael Rosenbaum, Lex Luthor plays first run for seven seasons of Smallville and has been declared dead so that Rosenbaum could pursue other acting opportunities. It looks like you can save a good megalomanic down too, because the report TVLine after much speculation, Michael Rosenbaum did come back, and he has a few words to say about this issue.

“I’m delighted to return for the series finale, I’m simply doing it for all of the fans out there who made Smallville the great success it is. I appreciate all of their passion, their relentlessness, and even their threats. Ha ha.”

The fans of Smallville can indeed be vocal, but I am sure this is something that brings a smile to their collective faces.

Finally! 'Smallville' welcomes Michael Rosenbaum back for series finale

As recently as last night, unnamed sources told Entertainment Weekly that Michael Rosenbaum had officially turned down an offer from "Smallville" producers to return for the show's two-hour series finale. The producers, however, were still hoping he'd change his mind.

Looks like he did.

"I'm delighted to return for the series finale," Rosenbaum tells Michael Ausiello's new venture TVLine. "I'm simply doing it for all of the fans out there who made 'Smallville' the great success it is. I appreciate all of their passion, their relentlessness, and even their threats. Ha ha."

Relentlessness? Where?

"It feels like the stars are aligning, literally," say producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson. "We couldn't be more excited. And as far as the way he returns... there'll be no doubt about how Lex becomes the great rival in Clark Kent's life. He is the villain of the story."

We can't wait... now we're just hoping that this time, it sticks. Now only one question remains, Rosenbaum: Bic or bald cap?
