Tonight on Hardball: Censure in the House. Harlem Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-NY) has been a member of the House for four decades, but today his peers vote on whether he'll face formal censure. We'll go live to the House floor when it happens, then discuss with Democratic Strategist Steve McMahon and Chicago Tribune columnist Clarence Page.
But first: The shenanigans over the tax cut debate. After the Senate GOP Caucus agreed yesterday to filibuster any measure the Democrats propose until tax cuts for the wealthy are extended, House Democrats hit back hard by forcing a vote that will have Republicans going against tax cuts only for the middle class. Then: Proponents of the Deficit Commission's proposal gained the support of two more Senators today, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID). It might not be enough for passage, but is it enough to spur a bipartisan agreement? Sen. Crapo is here with us tonight, and so is Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND). We'll ask them.
And then: We'll talk with Oklahoma State Rep. Lewis Moore, who co-authored the "Save Our State? amendment banning Islamic Shariah law from the state's courts, and with Oklahoma State Rep. Cory William, who voted against the amendment.
