While PlayStation users are still lamenting the fact that it could be another week before PSN is back online, Xbox 360 users are celebrating the addition of a brand spanking new feature: Hulu And.

Microsoft has announced that the company is today celebrating the launch of Hulu Plus for Xbox 360 with a gift of free Hulu Plus for all users from now until May 6.

Offering classic movies and episodes of shows like Modern Family, 30 Rock, The Office, Glee and The Daily Show in HD, Hulu Plus launched in June of 2010 and also offers users the chance to watch shows that are no longer aired, including Arrested Development, the X-Files and Ally McBeal.

Of course the unique part of Hulu Plus for Xbox 360 is that viewers can use Kinect to control Hulu with their voice or gestures. The Kinect Hub allows users to play, pause, fast forward and rewind, as well as select movies and TV shows.
"We're proud deliver the best in entertainment content like no other device in the living room," said Pete Thompson, General Manager of Xbox LIVE. "Hulu Plus is an important addition to support our continued effort to expand entertainment on Xbox LIVE. And by adding the magic of Kinect, we're truly transforming the way people enjoy their favorite entertainment."

If customers wish to continue their Hulu Plus subscription after May 6, they’ll need to pay $7.99 per month.

5 a.m. EDT Wedding progam released The official program for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was released at 8 a.m today on the royal wedding website.
It includes the order of the service at Westminster Abbey, a personal message from the prince and his bride, and a photo of the couple taken by photographer Mario Testino at the time their engagement. It features Prince William's recently updated coat of arms on the front cover and Middleton's new coat of arms on the back cover.

The program can be downloaded for free on the royal wedding website and will be sold by scouts on Friday in Green Park, Hyde Park, St James's Park and Trafalgar Square, with proceeds going to The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry

5:31 a.m. EDT Another wedding rehearsal taking place
Another wedding rehearsal is now going on at Westminster Abbey, Clarence House has confirmed.
The bride, Kate Middleton, is there but her fiancé Prince William is not. The royal family is represented by Prince Harry, who will be best man for his brother.
Also at the rehearsal are the bridesmaids, the pages and some members of the royal family. Clarence House says this is the last rehearsal before the Friday morning wedding that will include Middleton and members of the royal family, although the Abbey may hold additional rehearsals.

A total of 1,900 people received an invitation to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The invitations arrived on doorsteps in pale brown envelopes that read: “The Lord Chamberlain is commanded by the Queen to invite [name] to the marriage of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales, K.G. with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey on Friday, 29th April, 2011 at 11.00 a.m.” The dress code is described as “uniform, morning coat or lounge suit.”

Who’s in the wedding party?
 
The wedding party includes William's brother, Prince Harry, who will serve as his best man and Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton, will be the maid of honor. There has been no official confirmation on whether or not Pippa will serve as Kate's lady-in-waiting.
Groomsmen are called “page boys” in England. Prince William’s page boys include Billy Lowther-Pinkerton, 10, who is the son of Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Prince William’s private secretary since 2005. Another page boy is eight-year-old Tom Pettifer, the godson of the prince. Tom’s mother, Tiggy Pettifer, was the Prince of Wales’s personal assistant in the 1990s.
Kate’s bridesmaids include Lady Louise Windsor, seven, the daughter of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and Prince William's first cousin. Another bridesmaid is eight-year-old Honorable Margarita Armstrong-Jones, the daughter of Viscount and Viscountess Linley and a second cousin of William. William's goddaughter, three-year-old Grace van Cutsem, and three-year-old Eliza Lopes, the granddaughter of Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, are also included.
Will Kate and Will’s friends be there?
Yes, 1,000 close friends have reportedly been invited, including 26 of Prince William’s colleagues from his RAF base in Wales. Charles and Diana were able to invite only120 friends and family.

What celebrities are invited?
Pop icon Elton John, who was close to Prince William’s mother Lady Diana, is invited. So is Mr. Bean (aka Rowan Atkinson), who is a close friend of Prince Charles; soccer star David Beckham and his wife, Victoria, and soul singer Joss Stone. British musician James Blunt will be playing the church organ at the ceremony.
What politicians are invited?
Prime Minister David Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg are among the few politicans in attendance, as well as the leader of the Labour Party, Ed Miliband.
Who’s invites were taken away?
The Syrian ambassador, as well as representatives from Libya and Malawi, saw their wedding invitations withdrawn, because actions taken in those countries were seen as “unacceptable” by the British Foreign Office.
Who’s missing?
Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew and mother to Eugenie and Beatrice, is not invited, though she says she didn’t expect to be. Her daughters will be attending.
Since the wedding is not a political occasion, Former leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have not received invitations, nor have heads of state such as President Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

The Prince of Bahrain declined the invitation due to ongoing unrest in his country.
Are invitees also going to the lunchtime reception and to the dinner at Buckingham palace?
Around 600 people have been invited to the lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace given by Queen Elizabeth II, and about 300 people have been invited to the dinner at Buckingham Palace given by the Prince Charles.

Today YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen announced they have acquired the Delicious technology from Yahoo!. They plan to continue the service that users have come to know and love and make the site even easier and more fun to save, share and discover the web’s “tastiest” content.
Providing a smooth transition for users is important to both companies. There will be a transition period where users can elect to sign up for a new account. Users’ public and private bookmarks will be maintained through the transition period and transferred as they are today when it is complete.
As we have said, part of our product strategy involves shifting our investment with off-strategy products to put better focus on our core strengths and fund new innovation. “We got some good looks, Russell got some good looks … he shot the three it rimmed out,” Durant said about the game’s ending.

He was then asked some tough questions by the media where he could have called out his teammate, but he refused to take the bait.

When asked if he thought the Nuggets did a good job keeping the ball out of his hands, Durant said “We still got the ball, I think we made the right passes.”
Next Durant was asked if there was anything better the Thunder could have done on their final possession where Westbrook tried to bank in a three from about 30 feet away.

“Not really,” Durant said. “Maybe if he would have dribble-handoffed to me … and maybe they would have doubled and I wouldn’t have shot a good shot. Russ got a good look and it looked like it was going in from the side where I was but unfortunately it didn’t. We got three good looks actually, to tie it up, to go up one, and at the end of regulation.”

Since Westbrook was the only other player to attempt shots for the Thunder in the final minute, it sounds to reason Durant was talking about him when he mentioned the three good looks. Honestly, even though the results were poor, I have to agree.

When Westbrook took the final shot he only had 3.5 seconds to bring the ball up court. It would have been extremely difficult to find someone who would have had a better look in that short amount of time. Then on his airball with just under 10 seconds left, everyone else was well covered and he actually had a good look. He just missed terribly. And it was smart to shoot quickly so they’d have a chance to rebound a miss and set up for another shot.

David Wilkerson Killed in Car Crash

David Wilkerson, author of The Cross and the Switchblade and founder of World Challenge Ministries, died in a car crash today, Charisma and CBN are reporting.

CBN reports that Wilkerson was 79. The church that he founded, Times Square Church in New York City, has more than 8,000 members. His wife Gwen, was also involved in the crash and was rushed to the hospital where she is said to be in critical condition.

In 2009, Wilkerson posted a message warning of riots, fires, and economic collapse in New York City. CT wrote at the time about why Wilkerson's message received so much attention.

Wilkerson has more credibility and name recognition than many other online prophets. He is the author of The Cross and the Switchblade, one of the most popular books in evangelical history. (It ranked #32 in Christianity Today's list of "Top 50 Books That Have Shaped Evangelicals.") His Teen Challenge ministry is very prominent in discussions of drug treatment and social service partnerships between church and government. And Times Square Church, which he founded, reportedly draws 8,000 people weekly and is known for its many social service ministries.

Wilkerson continued to write blog posts until his death.
Update: Details about Wilkerson's memorial service will be posted on Times Square's website, which states that it will be streamed live.

Why We Still Need Smallpox

Those who advocate immediate destruction would have us believe that another smallpox outbreak is unthinkable. They want us to believe that there is no need to ensure the global community is adequately prepared to deal with an outbreak and that the only risk comes from maintaining the highly secured samples. For these reasons, they argue that the World Health Assembly should set an immediate date for destruction.
It should not. Although keeping the samples may carry a miniscule risk, both the United States and Russia believe the dangers of destroying them now are far greater.

Smallpox was one of the most devastating diseases humanity has ever faced, killing more than 300 million people in the 20th century alone. The victims it didn’t kill were often left scarred and blind. But thanks to the most successful global vaccination campaign in history, the disease was completely eradicated by 1980.
At that time, the WHO called on all nations to destroy their collections of smallpox virus or transfer them to the WHO-sanctioned collections at one of two labs in Russia or the United States. The global public health community assumes that all nations acted in good faith; however, no one has ever attempted to verify or validate compliance with the WHO request.

It is quite possible that undisclosed or forgotten stocks exist. Also, 30 years after the disease was eradicated, the virus’ genomic information is available online and the technology now exists for someone with the right tools and the wrong intentions to create a new smallpox virus in a laboratory. Furthermore, there are additional pox viruses that infect humans, and while they are not likely to produce the same degree of suffering that smallpox historically inflicted, they could still be dangerous.
In other words, we’ve beaten smallpox once, but we must be ready and prepared to beat it again, if necessary.

Today, most of the world’s population has no immunity to the disease. Once it was eradicated, we stopped routine civilian vaccination for smallpox. In fact, people under the age of 30 have little or no immunity to smallpox. Should an outbreak occur, we do have effective vaccines that could be deployed to protect most Americans. But global supplies are limited and some people cannot safely use the current vaccine for medical reasons.

Fortunately, in the three decades since eradication, science has come a long way. The vaccine used until the 1970s was little different from the crude vaccine developed by Edward Jenner more than 200 years ago. Today, new technologies and advances in vaccine development exist that could allow us to produce a vaccine without the rare but dangerous side effects of the original. Globally, work is under way to develop and test these vaccines. We should not stop now.

Even with an improved vaccine, vaccination alone will not save those who have already been infected once an outbreak has begun. That is why we are also working on developing, testing and licensing effective new drugs to treat smallpox for those patients with the disease. Scientists in laboratories in a number of countries are making progress on these new antiviral drugs and alternative therapeutic agents that, in the event of a new smallpox outbreak, could control the disease’s progression and greatly reduce the risk of death.
We have more work to do before these safe and highly effective vaccines and antiviral treatments are fully developed and approved for use. Once they are ready, we intend to share the fruits of this research with the world. Destroying the virus now is merely a symbolic act that would slow our progress and could even stop it completely, leaving the world vulnerable.

PORTLAND – Five-year-old Lily Maas wrapped her arm around her 4-year-old sister Nina and motioned to a cloudless sky Saturday in Southeast Portland. "Look," said Lily, pointing to a helicopter flying overhead.

The sisters, who live in the neighborhood, both knew what was inside: Easter eggs, and lots of them. The Easter Bunny didn't hop to this Lents neighborhood egg hunt. A helicopter crew did all the work for him.

Holding hands and baskets, the sisters disappeared into the crowd of thousands when the hunt began.

Revolution Foursquare Church members sponsored their third annual Easter egg hunt Saturday at the Wattles Boys & Girls Club, 9330 S.E. Harold St. Organizers estimated more than 2,000 people attended the event.

This year, volunteers wanted to take the egg hunt to a new height, literally.

Assistant Pastor Tim "Tray" Ray dreamt for years about a flying egg drop. The 300-member church organizes several large neighborhood events, but the Easter egg hunt remains special to Ray because it marks the church's anniversary. Plus, Ray said, "We all love Easter eggs."

Church members connected with a group in Hillsboro to make the flight possible. Volunteers donated and filled thousands of plastic eggs with candy to be dropped.

"My whole minivan was full of eggs," said Ray, who delivered them to the helicopter crew Friday night. "Eggs and eggs and eggs and eggs."

Cheers erupted at the first sight of the blue and white helicopter Saturday. A man opened a side door and emptied dozens of trash bags filled with eggs onto the open field.

The crowd stood behind a yellow "Caution" line. Toddlers waved, while older kids jockeyed for the best spot.

The helicopter made a final swoop and left a dozen minutes after it arrived. Volunteers scurried to scatter the eggs across the football-size field. In all, 10,000 eggs fell from the sky.

Ray described the next minutes in one word: "Insane-o."

Tots and parents ran toward the eggs. Most were in baskets and bags less than a minute later.

That's when the hunt began for 2-year-old Riley Harmon of the Lents area. He clung tight to mom Tammy Kutsch's hand, guiding her to discarded egg halves scattered in the grass. One by one, Riley dropped them in his wooden basket. He didn't notice the missing candy.

Church volunteers also painted face designs, grilled hot dogs and swirled cotton candy. A DJ spun funk tunes and occasionally announced names of children separated from parents.

Tim and Ashley Keith, who also live in the neighborhood,  brought their children, Luke, 4, and Lexi, 1, to the hunt.

"We did pretty good," Ashley Keith said, pointing to her kids' baskets. Luke nodded.

Lexi plopped down to enjoy her haul. Three eggs rested in her purple basket. She held up a green shell and smiled. Green candy dripped from her mouth. Lexi's first Easter egg hunt was a success.

Los Angeles Lakers beat New Orleans Hornets 100-86 in Game 3

Unable to contend with the Los Angeles Lakers' size and Kobe Bryant's scoring, the New Orleans Hornets dropped their second consecutive game in their best-of-seven series, losing 100-86 Friday night at the New Orleans Arena.
Game 4 is Sunday night at the New Orleans Arena,  with the Lakers holding a 2-1 lead.
Bryant scored 30 points and 7-footer Pau Gasol broke out a series shooting slump by scoring 17 points. He had scored eight points in each of the first two games.  Chris Paul led the Hornets with 22 points.
FOURTH QUARTER
Lakers are leading 91-77. They are shooting 50 percent from the field and have made seven 3-pointers. The Lakers have used their inside presence and Kobe Bryant's scoring to take command. The Lakers have opened the quarter on a 16-9 run. Kobe Bryant has scored 30 points on 10 of 20 shooting.
THIRD QUARTER
Lakers center Andrew Bynum appeared to hurt his right  knee, but he rose to his feet after he was attended to by the team's trainer. Hornets' center Emeka Okafor has opened the quarter with six points to cut the Lakers' lead to 57-50. The Hornets got as close as six until Derek Fisher's 3-pointer. Forward Carl Landry has scored nine consecutive points to bring the Hornets to within 69-63.  Chris Paul's jumper cut the Lakers' lead to 73-68 with 33 seconds remaining. But Pau Gasol made two free throws for the Lakers to close out the quarter leading 75-68.  
 SECOND QUARTER
Lakers shot 52.4 percent and got 15 points from Kobe Bryant and 14 Andrew Bynum in the first half. Chris Paul led the Hornets with 18 points. Backup point guard Jarrett Jack having a vision problem and is taken out of game. Lakers have outscored the Hornets 26-12 in the lane. The Lakers are taking over the game, playing with more energy and assertiveness. They have a 17-10 rebounding advantage. The Hornets are still struggling to get into an offensive flow. Marco Belinelli is 1-of-4; Carl Landry is 0-of-4. Chris Paul needs more help - Hornets trailing 38-27.  Lakers are dominating the Hornets inside, already holding a 30-18 scoring edge in the paint. Guard Derek Fisher has been the primary defender on Chris Paul, not Bryant like in Game 2. Bryant putting most of his energy into scoring tonight.
FIRST QUARTER
The Hornets led by as much as nine in the quarter. They hammered the Hornets inside with 7-footer Andrew Bynum hitting three of four shots. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 10 points. The Hornets missed seven of eight 3-pointers and shot only 42 percent in the quarter. But Pau Gasol already off to bad start, getting his shot blocked by Trevor Ariza and fumbling a pass away. Hornets have come out aggressive, but Lakers are on a 6-0 run to take a 16-10 lead. Forward Ron Artest has made his first three shots and has scored seven points. Lakers have made seven of nine shots; Hornets have hit five of 11. Hornets settling for too many jump shots. Lakers star Kobe Bryant off to a fast start with nine points in eight minutes. Bryant was held to 11 points in Wednesday night's Game 2. Lakers outscored the Hornets 20-10 in the lane.
PREGAME NOTES 
The Hornets announced Friday that Sunday night's Game 4 at the New Orleans is sold out. Tonight's Game 3 was sold out several days ago.
Hornets point guard Chris Paul is averaging 26.5 points and 11.5 assists in the series against the Lakers. Paul scored a team-high 33 points in Game 1 and 20 in Wednesday night's Game 2. Paul is shooting 55.2 percent from the field.
It's the Hornets' first home playoff game since 2009 against the Denver Nuggets. The Hornets have made the playoffs in three of the previous four seasons.
After averaging 22.3 points and 12.8 rebounds in four regular-season games against the Hornets, Lakers forward Pau Gasol is averaging 8.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in the first two games. He is shooting only 21.1 percent from the field.
The Hornets' Game 1 victory against the Lakers was only their second road playoff victory since the team relocated to New Orleans from Charlotte, N.C. in 2002.
The Lakers outscored the Hornets 14-5 on fastbreak points in Game 2.
Hornets forward Trevor Ariza scored a career playoff-high 22 points in Game 2. He also held Lakers guard Kobe Bryant to 11 points, his lowest postseason scoring total since Game 3 of the NBA Finals in 2004 against the Detroit Pistons.

Procedure

Recruitment. We placed flyers about the study on bulletin boards around campus, and the study was included on the list of open studies on the Psychology Department website. To reduce bias in the sample, we described the study as a “personality study” rather than specifically mentioning our target traits of anxiety and rejection sensitivity.

Session 1: Psychiatric diagnoses. During the initial interview session, doctoral level psychology students assessed participants for psychiatric diagnoses. Eighteen percent of the sample met the criteria for generalized anxiety disorder according to the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM–IV Axis I Disorders (First, Gibbon, Spitzer, & Williams, 1996).

Session 2: Assessments. All participants attended a follow-up session to complete assessments. Participants were instructed to bring a friend with them who would complete the other-report measures.

Self-report measures. We first administered several self-report measures, as follows.

State and trait anxiety. Participants took the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory for Adults (STAI–A; Spielberger, Gorsuch, Lushene, Vagg, & Jacobs, 1983), a 40-item self-report measure to assess anxiety.

Rejection sensitivity. Participants took the Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (RSQ; Downey & Feldman, 1996), an 18-item self-report measure that assesses rejection sensitivity.

Other-report measures. We also included other-report measures to obtain independent sources of information about participants’ levels of anxiety and rejection sensitivity.

State and trait anxiety. We adapted the STAI–A so that questions referred to the target participant rather than the self.

Rejection sensitivity. We adapted the RSQ so that questions referred to the target participant rather than the self.

Important notes on formatting your headings:

• The title of the paper is not in bold. Only the headings at Levels 1–4 use bold. See this post for a clarification on when to use boldface.
